I am a coordinator for a university and was just given permission to start my own fitness program. It can be for anyone, students, community, staff. I wanted to know ideas of things people would want in a fitness program. How can I make the best one possible. Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated.

March 15th, 2010
My Health I’m 19 and have an extremely mild case of cerebral palsy. I have balance issues and some muscle pain. I am about five to ten pounds overweight and want to lose weight to see if that will help with my irregular periods. Does anyone have any ideas for me? I have been trying so hard but nothing is helping and I am so upset because I can’t do fitness programs that are on tv and suggestions?

My Health Vitamins for your body & octane booster for your car

My Health
A very good way to think about performance enhancers, including vitamins, is to think of them as an octane booster. In this instance the gas you put into your car would be your normal daily diet. Vitamins and capsules such as green tea bullets make your normal food work better. That’s why we should think about what we’re doing if we have chosen to use them at all. Too few of us do that.
Most of us simply eat because its time to do so and because it’s fun. Meals taste good and are too often just seen as rewards for having gotten through a set of tasks during certain parts of the day. Seldom are they thought of as fuel to help you through a set of tasks or, in the case of an evening meal, as a way of replenishing energy store and tissue depletion.
Living athletically requires more energy than simply sitting in front of one’s computer or desk at a 9 to 5 job. Granted, either of these can feel exhausting because of the demands which they place on you (stress). However, the calorie usage is not as great. Nor is there the same wear and tear on the musculature.
If you are doing a daily workout routine, you need to have an adequate supply of food for energy. You need to satisfy your hunger. But you cannot overdo it. Consuming too may calories even when working out will still result in one’s becoming fat. It also results in sluggishness due to the amount of time which is needed for digestion.
That’ is why vitamins are so necessary. Especially the B-complex vitamins cause more rapid digestion of your food and a more complete absorption into your tissues. This makes what you eat much more available for what you do. As a result you need less than if you did not take them at all.
For many, this is counter intuitive. They believe that increased physical demands will result in increased appetite which they equate with a need for more food. Nothing could be more disastrous for a conditioning routine. What is needed is better usage and increased availability of what is consumed, just like octane booster does for the gas in your car. It really makes the fuel work better to getting you more efficiently to the places you want to go. Not surprisingly then, it even results in better gas mileage to say nothing of a cleaner engine.
