If your kefir strictly uses bacteria it should be okay. Some kefir has yeast in it, yeast is not good for gastritis. The bacteria commonly used to make yogurt and kefir, lactobillus, bifidus and acidopholous are good for the digestive system and restore a good balance.
Based on experience it’s not easy to answer your question simply by saying yes or no.
Even though Kefir has a lot of health benefits, some people’s body just don’t react the same way to it as others. This is the same with almost any type of medicine, food, supplement or pill. Each human body is so diverse and unique there is no one solution for all.
Personally, I’ve found over the years that some have had problems with digesting Kefir while some have not. My suggestion is if you have had problems digesting Kefir in the past and you feel your gastritis is worsening because of it, then at all cost stop and consult a doctor.
If however, you’ve been consuming kefir and have found no problems what-so-ever, then by all means continue eating it.
I’ve personally have had no problems with Kefir. And i’ve found out that if i wanted to cure a certain kind of ailment, i simply look for a recipe or fruit or vegetable that treats that and add that to my Kefir. So far it’s worked wonders.
Maybe you can try the same.
