Im a very active 15 year old n im trying to put on as much weight as possible… but i also want to continue getting stronger. Next week im gonna start going to a summer fitness program at my high school. Starting at 8:30 we do running exercises on the track and bleachers for an hour.. then we lift weights for another hour (we alternate upper body and lower body lifts everyday). I want to do more by doing upper body or lower body workouts (depending on wat i worked on in the morning) every afteernoon at 6pm for an hour. The program at school is just mondays- thursdays, other then doing my workouts in the afternoons mon.- thurs., i want to also workout out on sat. and sun. I know i have to rest but i dont know if resting on fridays is enough. Is this healthy? Will it benifit me or hinder muscle gain?… And also any tips for weight gaining with a fast metabolism? (Im currently taking mass xxx). Please get back at me. Thanks.

i recently read an article about a 15yr. old who works out once a week and does one set of 5exercises. he gained 11lbs in one month, has a six pack(pictures included) and made massive gains in strength. his father won’t let him work out more because he says it’s pointless.
Your body needs time to rest and repair your muscles…seeing as intensive workouts effectively tear your muscles apart. But if you exercise too much your body won’t gain as much muscle mass.
at 15 1 time a day for no more than 75 minutes in 1 sitting and only 5 times a week
well, here’s the deal. you need to rest about 2 days a week. I prefer 2 days in a row, just cause i want to heal as much as possible. Doing the cardio that you will be doing is going to hinder your weight gain, but that doesn’t mean you won’t build muscle. Best thing you can do is to stay away from isolation workouts. That means no curling or working on a specific part of your body. Rather than doing 10 different exercises for you arms, do some push ups and pull ups. Learn dead lifting, squats(front and back), lunges, overhead press and maybe a bench press (i don’t like bench pressing, kind of a waste of time. I’d rather push out a ton of push ups to be honest). Look into learning olympic lifts too. These will totally build up explosive power and muscle gain.
Along with sit ups (not crunches), box jumping and running…you can be a total powerhouse. Strong as a mule but able to keep it up at a long period of time. Check out crossfit.com or look crossfit exercises up on youtube.
Oh, you’re gonna wanna eat a lot because your body will be burning like crazy, you’ll definetly be increasing your calorie intake. milk is good for the fat you’ll need to build muscle.
Good luck, work hard and eat right.
It’s not healthy to do weights more than every other day. You can work out as much as you want as long as it’s cardio and you only do weights every second day. This will make your metabolism kick start though and you’ll digest things much more quickly.
