Valerian, horehound, ginseng, cabbage, licorice, lemon, onion, and marshmallow are all useful in dealing with a cough.

Horehound is supposed to be excellent for the lungs… even if it tastes horrible! Add lots of honey to your tea.

white horehound is used as a cough remendy but has to be combined with a sweetener such as licorice. hope this helps

    You probably have an infection.

    1. Gargle with hot (sea salt) salt water and get the junk out. Do this several times a day.

    2. boil a quart of water on a saucepan. After it comes to a boil, shut off the heat and add a few drops of Thuja and Eucalyptus oils. Put a towel over your head and the saucepan. Inhale the steam for 5-10 min. Do this a few times a day.

    3. take olive leaf capsules and/or tincture.

    4. eat raw garlic. It smells but it kills a lot of bad stuff.

    5. Oil of oregano. This is painful, but helps.

    6. Echinacea tea.

    7. Thyme tea. Buy the bulk herb, non-irradiated, from a health food store.

    8. Eat fresh herbs – rosemary – organic if possible. A few individual leaves at a time, not too much at once.

    9. Pure Vit. C powder in water. Drink a ton of water with or without the Vit. C.

    10. Sit in a DRY sauna (not a steam room) at the gym. Or find a place that has a far infared sauna, those are even better.

Any of this stuff should work. Also make homemade chicken soup with no preservatives (use chicken and veggies, no “soup base”- too many chemicals) And stay away from mucous secreting foods like sugars/desserts, dairy products, starches/wheat.
