how do I know if the shrimp is done?
do I wait for it to turn pink or orange

  2. ChefTips says:

Shrimp cooks really fast under a high heat. 10 minutes max in a hot pan, and your shrimp will be done. The shrimp under the shell will turn all white when done. Hope this helps.

hey I’m doing a dinner party Friday and will be using the ‘hot rock’ idea. I was trying to make it a main course using steak, ahi, and maybe shrimp. This doesn’t seem like a recipe to cook the shrimp on rocks. Is there a variation you’d suggest to incorporate shrimp?

  14. ChefTips says:

Hi. You can butter fly the shrimp for faster cooking. To butterfly the shrimp, take a sharp knife and cut down the back all the way down so you have two equal halves. Remove the shell before doing this.
    Hope this helps,
    Jason
