Where does he shop such that lamb is a dollar cheaper than chuck?
If you wanted to make a true Doner Kebab with this method would you need to chsnge the spice blend a little?
If I remember right, he had bronchitis around the filming of this episode. There is another episode where he sounds like that while talking about the property of some food being good for bronchitis
Alton’s balls dropped in the last clip, listen to his voice.
Can any Greeks confirm the authenticity of this? Just curious.
“Ironic, don’tcha think?”
Not to mention linguistics nerds, law nerds… Best cooking show EVER
“… I think that’s Ionic.”

Sheep weren’t the first animals to be domesticated. It was the Dog by about 25,000 years
I skeptically tried the recipes in this episode at home and they actually worked perfectly!
Alton knows his stuff! I can’t wait to make more!
“Kimono.”
Totally, reminds of the “dad” from “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”.
It cracks me up everytime that cook guy talks about what the Greeks invented.
It always is.
i havn’t found lamb cheaper than beef anywhere, must be a southern thing.
ground lamb meat is cheaper than ground beef??? how is that possible?!

The Dutch version of Shawarma called the Shoarma is the best.

It is a U.S. version. When we assimilate a food we alter it to suit the more mainstream tastes and traditions. Authentic or not, it’s what we think of when you say Gyro. As long as it tastes good, who cares what it’s called in the end?
I want to try that sandwich so much. And i want to try Lamb meat, never ate it before. But i heard in China they say lamb meat is a food from the Gods.
