Has anyone made yogurt from Kefir?

Is it okay to use Kefir as a starter to make homemade yogurt? I know there is more to Kefir, like yeast and needs special grains, with 2 steps of fermentation into alcohol and also the bacteria culture. So what happens if I just use the Kefir and mix into milk and incubate?

Why do my kefir grains smell really bad?

I just received some kefir grains that I ordered online. They came squished, and smelling like old smelly socks. The stench is really terrible. Are they still okay to use? I put them in a jar with milk but I’m worried that the grains are contaminated. Is the stench normal? Will it go away after a few batches?

How can I make a kefir mother the same way as a kombucha mother?

I grew a kombucha mother from a bottle of store bought kombucha tea, I just poured it into a jar of tea and in a few days a mother started to form on the surface of the liquid.

If I were to pour some kefir into milk, would kefir grains form, so that they could be moved into the next batch?

How much Kefir should I start with?

I am newly trying kefir to cope with undiagnosed intestinal and stomach pain. I don’t know how much to start taking.
I have been diagnosed with Celiac and allergies to dairy. I avoid most foods. I eat chicken, pork chops, potatoes, rice noodles, cook veggies, corn bread (homemade). That is the extent of my diet. (it sucks) and i still have pain.

In Regards to Cystic Fibrosis, does anyone know if Kefir can help the disease?

I am a 26 year old male who has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (pulmonary disease) at infancy and have recently learned about Kefir and was wondering if anyone has any information about the relationship between the two?
