Need help with a weird pain problem?

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

I was doing some cleaning. I used a sponge mop to clean some walls in my bathroom (dusty, dirty) and then starting the next day, my shoulder began to ache. Then my back. By the second night, next morning, my right side hurt like holy hell.

Mainly the muscle that runs under my right boob/rib cage and on my side. One long strained muscle. It hurt to breathe, hurt to put any pressure on it, when I coughed it hurts. It hurt so much to take a breath (no problems with my lungs!! I wasn’t gasping or wheezing!) It feet like a strained muscle. On the third day, after several hot showers, icy hot and a back massage, the pain is bearable.

My right shoulder pain is gone. I did wake up with a horrible migraine this morning and the muscles in my neck were horribly tense (better now) but I’m wondering, what did I do to myself?

My mom thinks I might have sprained my diaphragm (dunno how) and should I have gone to the hospital?

The pain was unbearable, and I was in near tears (this coming from someone who has a very high pain tolerance) but I was afraid they wouldn’t do anything but take an xray, tell me it showed nothing, go home and use a heat pack and rest.

Now today, 6 days after the pain started, the pain in my side still bothers me if I cough to hard or yawn too deeply. But it’s bearable. At least now I can lay on either side and take almost normal breaths instead of shallow ones. The sprain/strain no longer hurts under my boob, just my side.

What happened? What did I do to myself? My shoulder is fine some 6 days later, just a tad tender is all.

I have a problem in the summer months with coughing persistantly?

I have been to many allergists and no one can pinpoint why I cough a lot during the summer months. I have been told that I am sensitive to mold, and that I have a spastic esophagus but I have to drink water all the time and it is frustrating. Are there any natural remedies that may help, I would appreciate it. thanks

Healing Acid Reflux–A Dietary Problem

“Let Thy Food Be Thy Medicine and Thy Medicine Be Thy Food” Hippocrates (460 B.C-370 B.C.)

When one looks at solving a health problem, understanding how it has evolved will engage a correct approach to treatment. As acid reflux affects 1 in 5 people, it would be prudent to clarify the basis of this common ailment. Unfortunately, with acid reflux, a generally accepted response to treatment is to prescribe one of the many heavily advertised medications–as if the reason for becoming ill with acid reflux was related to a ridiculous notion that it was caused by not taking this type of medicine in the first place.

Another line of treatment reasoning that seems logical would be to test a medicine for its healing effectiveness in the people using it. However, the statistics for the efficacy of these medications make it hard to believe that they have become the only standard treatment prescribed by most doctors, as the drugs do not work at all in 1/3 of the people, 60% of the ones on these medications continue to have problems at least three times a week and 75% of those on prescription medications are doubling up with over-the-counter drugs! From this image, one might ascertain that healing is not really the true intention of these doctors and drugs, and even symptomatic relief is questionable. Yet, when the prescription drugs for acid reflux went over-the counter, the drug companies received $400,000,000 in sales!

Before the industrialization of our food supply and the creation of the pharmaceutical industry, most good doctors utilized a change in diet when there was a health problem. As far back as Hippocrates, (460 BC-370 BC), the Father of Medicine said “Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food” and “All diseases begin in the gut.” Why then do we not follow the excellent healing protocols of our most revered health leaders who have shown us healing wisdom? Unfortunately, it is because today, there is no profit for the pharmacy or the doctor that prescribes a change in diet as the “medicine” for his illness!

The exponential escalation of acid reflux prevalence in the last 20 years points entirely to problems with the poor quality of foods people are eating today, as this is what has been so drastically altered. Before 1950, people ate cultured foods that supported healthy digestion, like kefir, yogurt, beet kvass, kombucha, homemade sauerkraut, pickled beets and other lacto-fermented foods. Their diets focused on many more nutrient-dense foods like meats, poultry, dairy and eggs from animals on pasture instead of the factory-farmed foods and processed, low-nutrient, difficult-to-digest foods of today.

Acid reflux is therefore a dietary problem created solely by a massive change in our foods that is affecting our entire population. By returning to the real foods of our ancestors, acid reflux could be totally eliminated. Truly solving this problem would reap greater benefits to our national health than continuing to support the medical approach of doctors and drug companies with our pocketbooks.
