I got a Sunbeam bread machine and would like to find a sourdough bread recipe and a asiago cheese bread recipe, too. Do you know any good cook books that have good bread recipes for my bread machine, also?

Sourdough Bread -baked recipe

The yeast in a sourdough starter can replace dry yeast. But, the starter yeast works much slower and is typically a three-step method, taking from 6-24 hours for the dough to rise. Our method uses the starter for flavor and adds dry yeast to speed up the process

Add all ingredients to Bread Pan in the order given. 1st measurement is for 1 1/2 lb loaf. Measurements in () are for 2 lb.

1/2 (2/3) cup sourdough starter
3/4 (1) cup warm spring water
1 (1) tsp. salt
2 tsp. (1 TBL) honey (optional)
1 (1) TBL oil (optional)
3 (4) cups all purpose flour, or bread flour
1 1/2 (2) tsp yeast

Basic Sweetened Sourdough Bread Recipe

This is the basic bread recipe that came with the Amish Friendship Bread Starter but the ‘bad’ ingredients have been replaced or taken out all together.

_Basic Sweetened Sourdough Bread Recipe_
2 Cups batter
3 eggs
1 Cup Coconut oil or ½ C oil + ½ C Applesauce
½ Cup milk
1 Cup honey
2 teas Cinnamon
½ teas Vanilla
1 ½ teas baking powder
½ teas baking soda
2 Cups Flour (soaked)

Bake in greased pans at 325 degrees for 1 hour

The bread is very different from the Amish Friendship Bread and could definitely be tweaked to make it better but I just haven’t had the time to figure out what to do.
