Boehner on Fox: Americans Want Democrats to Scrap Their Govt Takeover of Health Care and Start Over

During an appearance on Fox News America Live with Megyn Kelly, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) discussed President Obamas bipartisan health care summit and said Americans want Democrats to scrap their trillion-dollar government takeover of health care and start over to work together on common-sense solutions the American people support. Boehner also said that, I don’t see any reason to allow the president to have a six-hour infomercial about his bill and I have no problems going down there and pointing out what I think the flaws in his bill are, and outlining what we think are common sense steps to make our system work better. Following are highlights of Boehners interview and accompanying video: BOEHNER ON AMERICANS WANTING TO SCRAP THE DEMS BILL AND START OVER WITH COMMON-SENSE REFORMS: Well, Megyn, the American people understand that our health care bill, and the health care system in America needs to be fixed. And as a result, I think we have an obligation to see if we cant find common ground, but the Presidents double-down on his proposal by basically adding a huge tweak to the Senate bill and continuing to try to sell this to the American people. And so I think we have an obligation to give to them, the President, to them, our Democratic colleagues, make it clear we think they should scrap this bill, this big government takeover, start with a clean sheet of paper and try to do those common sense steps to make our current health care system work better …

What Republican ideas from the big health care summit are in this bill?

Are some state Attorney Generals and lawmakers looking at this bill and trying to exempt their state from it?

They complain so heavily whenever Republicans favor corporations, yet this bill was quite possibly more pork than health care. Did they get so caught up in the rhetoric they forgot to check the facts?

Person A has a weight loss goal of at least forty pounds to drop him into the 140-150 pound range. On Monday, he wants to start on a structured diet program (weight watchers, etc). He will not eat treats, and he will only drink diet soda and water. He has lost weight on these diet programs before without exercise, so he is not stressing over fitness at this point.

Person B wants to loose somewhere between 40 and 60 pounds in order to weigh closer to 120 pounds. She is aiming towards the 60 pound or greater point, but she is not trying to weigh much less than 120 pounds. She has tried going on diets, but finds the structured diets are hard to stick to. On Monday, she is going to stop drinking sodas and Slurpees and keep her mug filled with water at all times. The following Monday, she will start playing her Wii Sports and wearing her pedometer. The Monday after she will start increasing her vegetable intake. Each week, she will add something new. The week after the vegetables, she may start to keep track of steps on her pedometer, or add mild jogging into her walks.

Who is most likely to succeed?

Person A: A male with a smaller weight loss goal who has successfully lost weight before. Has only goal to loose weight.

Person B: A female with a larger weight loss goal who is making very small changes instead of going at weight loss full-force. Has never successfully lost a large amount of weight. Goals include dropping clothing sizes, running one full mile (can barely run now), and touching toes when bent over.

Who is most likely to be successful? Who will loose the weight first? Who will keep it off longer? When both reach their goals, who will most likely be healthier and in better shape?

What are the positives and negatives to their plans?

im 31 and im no cook nor do know how to cook complicated recipes , but i eat unhealthily because of this , im overweight , but want to get fit and healthy….i plan to buy an exercise bike very soon amoung doing free weight exercises.

i would very much like it if someone can give me a few simple healthy recipes and meals and snacks and drinks to prepare for myself so i can make sure im at least eating all the right things.

including fish, vegetables, healthy drinks , healthy hot drinks .

i do not want to consume any more unhealth junk food that poisons me.
